The Virtual Home Simulator (VHS) is a virtual reality tool that aims to improve training for child welfare workers by simulating scenarios of assessing risks and protective factors for child abuse. The tool was developed by Chad McDonald, Ph.D., and Matt Davis, Ph.D., faculty in the College of Social Work at the University of Utah, in collaboration with the Therapeutic Games and Apps (GApp) Lab. The tool allows users to interact with virtual environments, receive feedback from experts, and evaluate their performance. The VHS is an innovative and effective way to enhance the skills and knowledge of child welfare workers.
